Spider!

There is a huge spider outside my window right now. Not my bedroom window, but the window at the desk I'm using in the library. I just spent about five minutes watching it instead of putting the finishing touches on a paper. It's body is about the size of a peanut M&M, and the distance from left legs to right legs is about the same as the diameter of a quarter. I didn't notice the spider until the sun rose enough for there to be sufficient light, but I suspect it's been there the entire time, near it's web. I chose this desk specifically for the view of the sunrise over Washington it would give me, which is nicely satisfactory even with a tree in the way. The spider acted like it saw me looking at it - it stopped repairing it's web, and then went away. I don't really recall the specifics of spider vision, and I'm not well versed enough in the particular species of spider native to this part of the country to identify it, though - so there's no way for me to be sure. I tried to find it again, but it's completely out of sight now.
The squirrels are awake, and I can just now see the top of the sun peeking over some of the townhouses in east Georgetown. The sun isn't so bright that I can't look straight at it. A totally unrelated note - I have decided not to allow the heckling of certain people to deter me from my plans to buy an eco action shirt today. If they still have any left. I never did get my hands on that 'I heart Jesuits' shirt, and I like this one just as well: 'Renewable Energy Turns Me On'. If by 'me' you mean the lights in my parent's house in Texas, which is powered with hippie wind energy, that is.
